Your privacy is important to us. RecoverPath is designed with a privacy-first approach: the sensitive parts of your recovery journey stay on your device.
Your recovery goals, journal entries, daily check-ins, relapse records, triggers, and milestones are stored locally on your device. Journal entries, check-ins, and relapse records are never uploaded to our servers. This also means an account does not back this data up: if you delete the app or lose your device, this data cannot be recovered — whether you use an account or not.
If you create an account, your email address and authentication tokens are processed by our backend provider (Supabase) to sign you in. You can also use the app anonymously, in which case no email address is collected at all.
We collect usage analytics only if you turn on "Share Usage Analytics" in Settings — it is off by default. When enabled, we record events such as check-in completed (with mood score), exercise started, milestone reached, and event planned, linked to your account ID, to understand which features help. We never record journal text, and we do not track crisis-screen usage. You can turn analytics off at any time, and deleting your account erases these records.
Premium subscriptions are purchased through Apple. To manage your subscription status, our subscription provider RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., USA) processes your app user ID and Apple purchase receipts. RevenueCat never receives your journal entries, check-ins, or any recovery data.
Our service providers (Supabase and RevenueCat) may process the data described above on servers in the United States, under data processing agreements that include the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties, and we use no advertising trackers.
Deleting your account (Settings → Delete Account) removes your data from our servers, including your analytics records. Local data is erased from your device at the same time.
Depending on where you live (e.g. Switzerland, the EU/EEA, or California), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. Most of these are built into the app; for anything else, contact us and we will respond within the legally required timeframe. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
